Dragonfly Blue Topaz, Diamond enamel silver brooch

This brooch is stunningly beautiful, and exquisitly made. The aqua blue wings are made in Plique a jour, a French term meaning 'glimpse of Day', plique-a-jour is a particularly difficult technique whereby delicate translucent enamel is suspended between threads of silver. This allows the light to pour through, illuminating the colours with the same brilliance as a stained glass window seen in sunlight.

The dragonfly has a large blue faceted oval topaz, for its body and two sparkling white diamonds for eyes. The tail is enamelled in blue with dark blue stripes.

The brooch comes with a pendant converter, allowing it to be worn as a pendant on a silver chain or as a brooch.

The dragonfly is 65mm wide by 50mm long, and has a hinged pin with sliding safety clasp.
